Portable Prayer Station Attracts Interest in Macon

A local church is taking the scriptures to the streets with a portable prayer station, and the walking services are gaining attention across our area.
Once a month, the Covenant Church of Jesus Christ prays for people in Macon. This weekend, a small group huddled around church members on Poplar Street, who stood in the summer sun for hours, praying for nearly 50 people.
"It's so many people that won't come unless we come out here and let them know about what God is and how great God is," said Covenant Church of Jesus Christ Deacon Earnest Fisher.
The idea of the prayer station is to provide a place to worship outside of the sanctuary. The station will be set up on the fourth Saturday of next month at Mercer University.

I like that there is a group like this that gathers each month and prays for anyone that needs it.

This group is going to create inspiration in others to do the same thing in their towns.

I'm not a religious person, yet their gesture is touching. To spend hours praying for others, without expecting anything in return, that's something impressive and heart-warming.

I find that is a good idea to show that you can believe and do not have to go to a church to share your belief.

I like the idea of a prayer station. I think it reinforces the fact that people can pray anywhere, not necessarily inside a sanctuary.

This is exactly what needs to be done. If its done on the streets then maybe others will join them in prayer to help others.

I agree. That is awesome and very inspiring. Continue to let God use you all in this area of our city and hopefully others will do the same.
